Time flies.
This happens - once the kids go back to school, I go back to school....etc...our time becomes more limited. How do you know if I care about you? If I "give" some of that time to you (whether it's time chatting on the phone, online or having you over to my house)....you see, time to us is very special right now - we a have a son that is standing on the precipice of teenage/adulthood years; a daughter that is almost a pre-teen - etc, etc....the "baby" is now 3 and is so totally her own person that sometimes the only time I "see" her is at bedtime - we still cuddle up in my big chair to snuggle as I watch her drift to sleep. The almost 7 yo and almost 9 yo have been craving mom's lap lately too, hmmm, wonder if they feel the sands of time slipping away too?
Today I've been multi-tasking....folding laundry while watching the Packers win....writing notecards while chatting with the fam....etc. As I type, the 7 yo is trying to decide which "fancy" folder she would like to use, should the one that she currently uses get destroyed. Hubby is downstairs finishing off the bathroom, Son is outside hauling wood, eldest daughter is playing "Jazz - Happy Birthday" on the piano - I can hear the refrains drifting up the stairs - the girl has talent for sure. My suspicions are that the baby and "middle" daughter are playing quietly....waiting for their turns on the piano.
More later...if time permits!
