Sickness?? :(

I guess we are a sick family....last week our son took the last of his meds for a sinus infection....this week Daughter #2 started meds for a sinus infection (and today had a HUGE asthma flare-up) and Daughter #1 was started on antibiotics for an infection (secondary to a wasp sting two days ago). Yikes, can we be done now??

Aside form all of the problems though...today was pretty productive. We got ALL laundry washed, dried and folded, including towels and washrags. I got 2 units of flashcards made for Pharmacology done...dishes done, lunch and supper made.

Hubby is off this weekend and we are fortunate enough to have a "grease monkey" in the family. Hubby's brother said that he would install the new sway-bar in the van. YAY!

It's also Fall-festival this weekend...so I'm sure we'll be going over to the church and enjoying the festivities over there (oh yes, I must make some pies too, to take over...). It's also predicted to be a nice weekend, so I think we'll get some weatherizing done as well.

Beef...the final breakdown

Well, we took in a half of a beef. We ended up with a dressed weight of 317 #.

We took out roasts, stew meat, steak and cubed steak and ground the rest into hamburger.

We got:
33.2# roast
27.3 # steak
31.9 # cubed steak
10 # stew meat
66.3# burger

and 35.7 pounds (10 # pork added) of landjaeger for my dad. With the hide credit ($30) we only had to pay $200.58!

In case you have a hard time picturing this....is was 5 1/2 brown paper bags of MEAT!!

God is good!

On a good note : we finally asked my neighbor if he would bring Son home after school on Mon, Wed and Fri (we've been driving him to school and then going back to bring him home - 40 miles round trip per day! On Tue and Thursdays I've been staying at school, so that cuts two complete trips out -but it's wearing me out, plus expensive on gas) Sooooo, he said he would!!! YAY!!

On a crummy note: my car has leaked gas - but only the last two times that I filled up...well, the last time, I noticed a hole in the "neck", right behind the tire. Well, this is a common occurrence with the Neon's, so there was not one to be had for under $150 - ouch! Well, the part will be in tomorrow and thanks to a friend, it will be slightly cheaper....but hubs will have to put it in tomorrow. "Baby" will stay the whole day with her "Bama" (grandma) and she's already looking forward to it.

9-9-11

Today we got the Son off to school, went to church to watch the eldest daughter be an usher for the first time - gave all my kiddies a kiss and told them to have a great day. Ya know, there is just something to starting your day off with Mass, receiving the Eucharist .... just puts your best foot forward, ya know?

Today we need to:
*hang out clothes (three loads are washed - yes, I'm MOVING today!)
*put pool away(washed....needs to dry, will put away tomorrow)
*bills payed
*bank
*fill new car and van, pay gas bill
*dishes
*fold laundry
*get the new "boogie rags" to my Godson
*some studying
*some sewing? I've missed thee!
*Family movie night - everyone can sack out in the living room!

Yesterday was a great day! I got hankies made for the Godson and the two oldest daughters - they are all washed up and ready to use. I met my grandma for lunch, got a LOT of studying done....went to school when called for the Son - he fell on his wrist in Phy-Ed and I was glad I was in town to administer meds (he stayed at school and is sore, but ok). I then went to lunch with my friend Meg - it was great to reconnect with her...then home and onto supper and time with the kids....and of course - the Packer Game. Yes, life is good! :)

Meal Plan

Wed: Chili
Thursday: Stuffed peppers
Friday: Homemade honey chicken w/rice
Saturday: Brats/dogs on the grill
Sunday: Brunch

Of course, this is by no means inclusive of all that we will eat. We have fresh garden veggies, salads, snacks, squash....etc that we will be adding to this. I just find that if I have the main course thought out, the rest falls into place!

9-6-11

We had a fantastic weekend and got to spend some time visiting friends.Their tattoo shop is really cool and the kids enjoyed seeing their actual store! The girls got their AG dolls and are in total love - also got a horse.

We bought a (new-to-us) car this weekend. A little Dodge Neon that is white. It was a steal at $1400...and no car loan! Only a little of rust by the doors....but hubs will take care of that  - I'll try to get pictures and post before and after.

Today we need to:
STUDY!
Son to school
girls to school
Youngest child: bath and breakfast
dishes
Register new car
Insure new car
Laundry
Floors
Go to dairy to pick up cheese
Go to bank
Pick up meds for Son
Pick up Son from school
Did I mention: study! lol

Ah, it was a pretty good day - all-in-all. Hubby helped out ALOT and helped get so much accomplished. I got the majority of my studying done - much more to do this week, but I'll manage! I still need to menu-plan for the week - oops! Will do that soon!

9-3-11 Labor Day Weekend

We have plans for the whole weekend - but it's the first weekend Hubby has had completely off in awhile. He's going to (hopefully) finish the basement bathroom this weekend (re-doing the walls in car-siding, new fixtures, etc) and we will be having a fire tonight for supper, maybe hace the neighbors over too.

Tomorrow is church in the morning and then my Son was invited to a birthday party in the afternoon - his first party at the new school AND its a girl!!!

Monday we're heading to OshKosh to visit some friends and some retail therapy!

It should be a good weekend. LOTS of studying to do - I've been trying to read the last few days of threads - but you all have been pretty busy! These two core classes are kicking my butt BIG TIME - I was a straight A student with generals - but this is totally different. School is super supportive though and just held a special Study/test-taking Seminar for Nursing students - it was SO helpful!

I'm looking forward to the "family time" this weekend - we need the time together  - not doing too much planned, but just hanging out. I'm sure that we'll clean too - but only the normals: dishes, floors and laundry!
